I'm running stock heat shields (slightly modified), and inlet piping/ couplers are wrapped. There's a tiny air gap between, no direct contact with the heat shield. I personally tested the coupler material with a torch, it holds up well ;) The inlet pipes I got from Greg weren't heat shield and A/C friendly. My cousin Spencer ( who has helped me with this entire build, from the bottom up) welded me up a custom inlet pipe for the driver side. We will be doing a custom pipe for the passenger side as well. I will post pics on this later. (Ash also makes a very nice inlet piping kit). I am running the TT PS pump, still have all the HICAS for now. We modified the inlet to the PS pump to further help with the 2.5" inlet piping fitment. Even though these turbos are sold as a 'kit' it really takes some finesse to install them correctly, along with the supporting mods to let them breathe. Hopefully all the hard work will pay off :)
